A few weeks ago, I had the honor of photographing two of my dearest friends as they prepare for their sweet baby girl's arrival. I always LOVE maternity sessions, but this particular session was extra special. Alison was my first friend when I moved to Virginia Beach 10 years ago. We were both fresh out of college and attending the teacher orientation program for our very first real world, big girl jobs. We were nervous, awkward, and uncomfortable young adults, trying to act like we were ready for whatever the world was about the throw our way. Alison complimented my trendy 2006 haircut and we quickly became best friends. Fast forward through 10 years of job changes, address changes, nights out on the town, nights snuggled up on the couch watching The Bachelor, weddings, and life's roller coaster... and here we are today!
When Alison asked me to do her maternity photos, I was excited, humbled, and truly honored. This is one of the most incredible times in Alison and Chris' life together, and I couldn't be happier for them. The day of this session we went back and forth about whether we should reschedule because it was chilly and cloudy all day, and looked like it may rain. But Alison decided to just go for it and I'm so glad she did! Just as we arrived, the clouds parted and the sun came out! It was a beautiful evening to photograph a beautiful couple. Here are some of the highlights from their Virginia Beach maternity session at one of their favorite spots, First Landing State Park.
Alison and Chris, I am so excited for both of you and I can't wait to meet sweet baby Kennedy in just a few short weeks!
